(A Visit to Switzerland and US Customers)




 
From May 18 to May 30, 2012,  GT's CEO Wade Lam visited customers in Switzerland and US for further expansion of global market. At San Francisco, after finishing the registering procedures, Grand Technologies (USA) Corporation was formally established at Silicon Valley, San Jose. This was the first milestone of GT expansion in Euro and US on responding “go to the world” strategy.
 
In Switzerland, CEO Wade Lam visited lots of important customers form Zurich, Berne, Geneva and other famous cities and attended relative business activities. After the activities, among the warm invitations from the local friends, Wade Lam with his companion's paid a visit to Jungfrau, Interlaken, Lausanne, Liechtenstein and other scenic spots, and impressed by the landscape of lakes and hills.
 
Switzerland is situated in Western Europe, where it is bordered by Germany to the north, France to the west, Italy to the south, and Austria and Liechtenstein to the east. There are various terrains in Switzerland with mountains, rivers and lakes. The Alps cover about 60% of Switzerland’s surface area, while one of the highest mountains, Jungfraujoch, is been titled as the peak of Europe. Switzerland possesses near to 1500 different size lakes. Among them are the two biggest lakes shared with neighbors. The southwest one, Lake Geneva, is bordered with French. The northeast one, Lake Constance, is with Germany and Austria. Switzerland is being called as the reservoir of Europe, occupying about 6% of Europe’s fresh water resource. Around green plants, clear lakes, beautiful sceneries together with harmonious ethnic culture and advanced tourist facilities, visitors are always too delighted to leave.
 
Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world by per capital gross domestic product, and has the highest wealth per adult (financial and non-financial assets) of any country in the world. Zurich and Geneva have respectively been ranked as the cities with the second and eighth highest quality of life in the world. It has the world's nineteenth largest economy by nominal GDP and the thirty-sixth largest by purchasing power parity. It is the twentieth largest exporter and eighteenth largest importer of goods. Also Switzerland is the home of many multinational corporations and global organizations. Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Lugarno are the economic center of Switzerland. Bioscience, chemistry and pharmaceutical industry are spread on Basel. Timepiece-making industry is in Jura, covering range from Geneva to Schaffhausen, which is been called “timepiece-making belt”. Switzerland’s environmental technologies include the reducing of environmental pollution, the protection of natural resources and living conditions. Switzerland takes about 1.7% of its GDP on environmental protection every year, such as waste management, water-pollution prevention and air-pollution prevention.
 
Swiss precision manufacturing has a long history, Mr. Lam took this opportunity to learn and observe the development of precision manufacturing industry , and presented a higher level for GT in machining field while expanding market in Switzerland. Mr. Lam also showed, Switzerland market and US market would be the next “main battlefields”, after the success in Israel market. ( victor )
